Horn X2 PRO Connection Guide

Seat horn into its cradle insuring it is pushed to the rear into its groove

Insure that the horn lead are firmly connected between the horn terminals and the first set (closest to the horn) Binding posts - the same ones as the resistor plugs into.

NOTE: In Beyma horns the connectors are backwards from conventional horns. Insure the horn is inverted (upside down) as in the images. This provides proper phase and is not an image artifact)

The Horn X2 PRO connects your amplifier and speakers through its internal crossover—no cabinet modifications and no crossover surgery required.

Overview

  • Amplifier connects to the inner terminals.

  • Speakers connect to the outer terminals.

  • The internal crossover splits highs to the horn and lows to the speaker.

  • Horn level is controlled with the L-pad resistor.

Connection Diagram

The Horn X2 PRO has four rear terminals. The two inner posts connect to your amplifier, and the two outer posts connect to your speakers.

Terminal Configuration

Outer Terminals → Speaker

Connect your speakers to the outer binding posts. These carry the low-frequency signal only.

Inner Terminals → Amplifier

  • Lows are passed to your speaker.

  • Highs are routed to the horn.

  • The L-pad resistor adjusts horn output.

  • The crossover maintains a clean split around 2 kHz.

***IMPORTANT: Do not connect your amplifier directly to your speaker. Always connect the amplifier to the inner posts of the Horn X2 PRO.

L-Pad Crossover Tuning

Adjust the following by swapping components:

  • Overall horn level

  • Tonal balance

  • Room brightness

  • Woofer–horn integration

Installing the Resistor and Capacitor

The Horn X2 PRO uses a plug-in system for both the L-pad resistor and crossover capacitor.

  • Insert the L-Pad Resistor: Higher value = louder horn · Lower value = softer horn.

  • Insert the Capacitor: Smaller value raises crossover point · Larger value lowers crossover point.

  • Note: Do not exceed 10 µF.
