Understanding the Tuning System

1. The Tuning Capacitor (Where the Sound Hands Off)

The capacitor controls where the horn begins to take over.

Change the value, and you change how much of the upper midrange belongs to the horn — and how much remains with the main driver.

This directly affects presence, body, and vocal weight.

  • 4.7 µF → later hand-off, smoother, more relaxed
  • 5.6 µF → balanced, natural integration

2. The Resistors (Controlling the Horn’s Voice)

If the capacitor determines where the horn enters, the resistor determines how strongly it speaks.

This is the final balance between the horn and your main driver.
