The Foundation 8 is the flagship of the Shinjitsu Audio line. It takes the coherence and speed of our Foundation series and adds the effortless authority that only a large-displacement driver can provide. This system pairs our Horn X2 PRO engine with the Foundation 08 Bass Module, housing the legendary Mark Audio MA200M 8-inch driver.

Factory Tuned for Perfection

Stop thinking and start listening. The Horn X2 Foundation 8 arrives with its crossover factory-set for a perfect blend. We have already done the math and the listening tests. The pre-installed audiophile capacitor and resistor network are optimized to ensure a seamless "hand-off" between the horn and the massive 8-inch woofer. You simply plug it in and get a perfectly balanced, coherent presentation immediately.

The Exposed Crossover Engine: Zero Soldering

We do not bury your signal path inside the box. The Horn X2 features a Top-Mounted Crossover that puts the critical components on display and completely under your control.

Modular "Plug-and-Play" Architecture Both the Capacitor and the Resistors are mounted directly into high-quality banana plugs on top of the horn sled. Nothing is hardwired.

• The Capacitor (The Hand-Off): Sets the crossover frequency. You can swap this instantly to experiment with different values or capacitor brands.
  
  
  
  
  

• The Resistors (The Acoustic Throttle): Sets the output level of the horn to match the high-efficiency woofer.

  • Factory Default:  "Neutral" as tested -  Plugged in for a neutral, flat response.

  • Custom Tuning: Simply plug in the -  "Bold" or "Relaxed" - resistor sets to instantly change the voicing.

The Foundation: MA200M Reference Woofer

The heartbeat of this system is the Mark Audio MA200M, an 8-inch wide-band driver used here as a dedicated high-speed woofer.

• The Physics of Scale: At 8 inches, this driver moves significantly more air than smaller counterparts. This results in "effortless liquid" dynamics the sound doesn't just get louder; it expands into the room with authority and physical weight.

• Aerospace Material: The cone is machined from a high-purity Magnesium-Aluminum alloy. This material is incredibly light yet rigid, allowing this large driver to start and stop with the agility of a tweeter, ensuring it perfectly matches the speed of the horn.

• Higher Efficiency: With a sensitivity of ~93 dB, the Foundation 8 is easier to making it the ultimate match for low-wattage SET tube amps (like 300B or 2A3).

The Engine: 12-Inch Cast Aluminum Horn & Beyma Polymer Tech

At the heart of this system is the Horn X2 PRO, a massive B&C of Spain -ME45 12-inch Constant Directivity Cast Aluminum Horn. This is not a plastic waveguide; it is a heavy, acoustically inert metal horn that controls sound directivity with absolute precision.

Driving this horn is the  Italian Beyma CD171 FE/PK.

• Why this driver? Unlike standard titanium drivers that can sound "shouty," the CD171 FE/PK utilizes a specialized Polymer Ketone (PM4) diaphragm.

• The Sonic Benefit: This high-tech polymer delivers the speed and detail of a compression driver but with the natural, organic smoothness of a soft dome.

The Secret to Deep Bass: Internal Baffle Step Compensation

Even with a large 8-inch driver, slim cabinets can sound thin due to Baffle Step Loss.

• We Fixed It Internally: The Foundation 8 features a dedicated Baffle Step Compensation (BSC) Network built directly into the cabinet.

• The Result: This network selectively attenuates the midrange to perfectly match the bass, delivering the weight and authority of a large floorstander from an elegant, 28-liter footprint.
